Yep, WWF in the late 70's too IIRC. Saw him in Allentown along with Snuka, Putzky, Andre etc. Had forgotten about the turnbuckle.

I bought a 68 sport satellite parts car from a ex WWF wrestler and a Mopar guy in Jim Thorp Pa, he was working on a Super Bee....... not a big name guy, but a regular who's job was to get his *** kicked..... did not know until I asked him about the wrestling ring I saw in one of his buildings.... he held wrestling classes in there........ had a bunch of photos and stuff on the walls.... he mentioned Iron Mike Sharpe as one of his best friends. I actually remembered him from WWF, as there was a guy from "Jim Thorpe, Pa". I bullsh*tted with him for hours that day, he actually delivered the car to me the following week....... very cool dude

That sucks
He was one of my favorites. His persona was top notch. As a small child in the early eighties my brother and I loved WWF.
I used to have a "George the Animal Steele" action figure. It had a green tongue lol

George was in his eighties. That's ancient for a wrestler.
I met Hacksaw Jim Duggan last year at a Blue Ribbon Bacon Festival. (Exactly a year ago). He was signing autographs. Looked like deach warmed over. I've seen former Rock Stars in better shape.

was thinking about both those guys earlier, 70s era...... I used to get a kick out of the managers, Freddy Blassy, The Grand Wizard, and Lou Albano (when he was a bad guy)
