Ticket insurance is a type of protection that might reimburse your ticket purchase if you can't attend an event for certain covered, unexpected reasons. Customers can purchase it as an add-on when they buy tickets to live events like sports games and concerts.

You'll receive your funds through the payment method you selected when you filed your claim. If for some reason the direct deposit or debit card payment fails to go through (this can happen if your account number is incorrect), you'll receive a check to the address we have on file for you.

Upon receipt of the required documents, we will process your claim within 10 business days or within the applicable state requirements.

Claims due to known, foreseeable, or expected events, epidemics, government prohibitions, warnings, or travel advisories or fear of travel are generally not covered (coverage can vary by state.)

Quick claim processing

Once we have all the information required, we can process and pay a claim within 48 hours. However, we can only do this if you have told us your diagnosis, so please make sure you include this with your claim. Otherwise, we will need to request the details from you or your doctor.

You can file a claim on the phone, by mail, online or using the TravelSmart app. Describe what happened, explain your losses, and upload supporting documentation, such as your travel itinerary and receipts. Then, choose how you want to receive payment for an approved claim.

Can you get a refund from Allianz? ›

Refunds are calculated on a monthly pro-rata basis, with a minimum refund of one month. Any amount that we retain on these grounds is treated as a fee for processing your refund.

Public events, including dance recitals, sporting events and exhibitions, typically cannot be insured under this coverage, and neither can bachelor/bachelorette parties. Certain business functions, such as fundraisers or private corporate parties, may or may not be eligible.

Most travel insurance policies won't pay out if you're negligent while under the influence of alcohol or drugs, and have an accident or have property stolen.

Conditions which may not be covered

Conditions like terminal illness, the need for oxygen, pending surgery, chronic lung disease, cardiovascular disease, specific types of cancer, congestive heart failure, and recurring pain are generally excluded from coverage.

Can i get a refund? Occasionally, events are cancelled or postponed by the promoter, team, performer or venue for a variety of reasons. If the event is cancelled, refund procedures will be announced by the Event Partner. If the event was moved or rescheduled, the venue or promoter may set refund limitations.

Review period. If you're not completely satisfied, you have 15 days (or more, depending on your state of residence) to request a refund, provided you haven't started your trip or initiated a claim.

If the train is marked as "CANCELLED" in Passenger Reservation System (PRS) due to breaches, floods, accidents etc., full refund is permissible in case the ticket is cancelled within three days of the scheduled departure of the train. In case of e-tickets, such cancellation can be done by the customer through Internet.
